Terre Melée dinner plate

The Terre Melée technique is an ancient Provençal art that has re-emerged as a modern trend in Paris. Originating in the 18th century, this technique combines coloured and modelled clays with oxides to create incredible earthen wonders.

The process begins by slowly firing the clay. Once formed, the clay is scraped, thinned and smoothed extensively, then a transparent glaze is applied and fired twice. Each plate is unique as it is thinned to produce different patterns. The result is a beautiful ceramic plate with a diameter of 24 cm that combines the elegance of modern design with the warmth of porcelain.
